The Gulfport Peace, Love & Pride Festival 2024 is being planned right now by ProSistersRadio and ProSisters, co-sponsored by the City of Gulfport. The original “Gulfport Pride” Festival is about more than LGBTQ+ Pride. We’re proud of our hometown. We’re proud of our community’s diversity. We’re proud that everyone is welcome here. This Festival is a celebration for everyone!
Gulfport, Florida is small but mighty when it comes to granting equal rights to LGBTQ residents, employees and visitors. According to some estimates, 30% of Gulfport’s 12,000+ population is LGBTQ. Our LGBTQ residents have played a major role in City government and community development for decades.
Gulfport’s Mayor Sam Henderson signed an official proclamation recognizing Monday, August 26, 2019 as Women’s Equality Day in Gulfport.
- In 2005, the City passed a Human Rights Ordinance to protect residents, visitors and employees from all forms of discrimination including gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation and physical characteristic.
- In May 2012, Gulfport was the first city in Pinellas County to pass a domestic partnership registry.
- In June 2015, the Gulfport Public Library officially opened its LGBTQ Resource Center, the first of its kind in the State of Florida.
- In February 2018, the American Library Association’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) announced the Gulfport Public Library in Florida as the third recipient of the Newlen-Symons Award for Excellence in Serving the GLBT Community.

Live Music (TBA) will take place on the Casino patio facing Gulfport Beach starting @ NOON. The outdoor stage will be facing the Boca Ciega Bay with plenty of beach to enjoy. The talent is loaded with fine local musicians from the sublime to foot-stomping!! Talk about Diversity!!
